Historical Uses of Kamani Oil
The tree is indigenous to Southeast Asia, but profuse in Polynesia where it is traditionally known as Ati, in Hawai’i as Kamani Oil. It is mentioned in ancient Hawaiian chants. Considered sacred by Polynesians all parts of the tree have medicinal properties. Of all plant derivatives in nature, Kamani Oil, derived from the seed found inside the nut, is surely one of the very most remarkable for its cicatrizing power.
Kamani Oil has a unique capacity to promote the formation of new tissue thereby promoting wound healing. For this reason, it is a widely used traditional Polynesian topical medicine.
Uses & Methods
Kamani Oil can be applied to cuts, scrapes, burns, insect bites and stings, abrasions, acne and scars, psoriasis, diabetic sores, sunburn, dry or scaly skin, blisters, eczema, herpes sores and the entire range of fungus growth. It is also used to reduce foot and body odor. Kamani Oil is applied to the neck to relieve a sore throat, and is massaged into the skin to relieve neuralgia, rheumatism and sciatica.
Additionally it is a beauty secret for promoting healthy, clear, blemish-free skin, and is used on babies to prevent diaper rash and skin eruptions.
Kamani Oil can be used pure or diluted with a carrier oil or another medicinal oil like Kukui Nut Oil.
In recent years, European and U.S. skin care manufacturers have begun using Kamani Oil as an ingredient in their formulations.
Historical Uses of Tamanu Oil
The oil of Tamanu was used in Fiji to relieve the pain of sciatica, shingles, neuralgia, rheumatism and leprous neuritis, for which it is remarkably effective. But it’s cicatrizing properties have received the most attention. In the medical literature on Tamanu oil, many instances of it’s successful use in cases of severe skin conditions have been reported, with photographs showing before and after use.
In one of the most remarkable instances, a woman was admitted to the St. Louis Hospital in Paris with a large gangrenous ulcer on her leg, which would not heal. Though doctors were sure that amputation was inevitable, she was given regular dressings of Tamanu oil. The wound eventually healed completely, leaving a smooth, flat scar. In other cases, Tamanu oil has been employed successfully to heal horrible burns caused by boiling water, chemicals and X-rays.
The oil of Tamanu contains palmitic, oleic and stearic acids, all three of which are common. It also contains a unique fatty acid called callophyllic acid and callophylloide. The beneficial effects of Kamani Oil and it’s composition of unique constituents are not the only unusual attributes of this Polynesian traditional remedy. Strangely, the nut kernel of the ripe fruit contains virtually no oil, when it falls from the tree. Only after the nut kernel has been prized from it’s tough shell and carefully dried does it become rich in the luxurious, dark green healing oil. How this occurs is not understood. Approximately one hundred kilograms of Kamani nut kernels yields a modest five kilogram of oil once this unusual chemical process has taken place.

First I have to thank you for all you do!
I was blessed years ago to have found your Kamani oil! I have had more
skin cancer cut & burnt off over the last fifteen plus years! This oil has
been my savior! Not sure if you know what a PDT is? The dermatologist
rubs a chemical all over the face to sit for 3 to 4 hrs…ugh. Then you
sit under a blue light for exactly 16 minutes. Not many can handle it.
Many men walk away from not finishing treatment.
Most people that have that treatment will have one maybe two treatments.
This past January I had my tenth treatment! I know….crazy! I can’t go
near any kind of light, not even filtered light for 48 hrs. Very very
painful if I do! First few nights I look like a lobster. You’re just
fried! After about a week your skin starts to crack. Usually around your
chin. Soooo much skin peels, I keep waiting to see bones! The skin
underneath is soooo sensitive. Seemed to take forever to heal! Till someone
turned me onto your Kamani oil! I am so grateful for you! Right after I

Aloha! I just want to tell you how much I LOVE your Kamani Oil! This year we rented a boat for a day and the next day I woke up with a terrible cold sore that would not stop spreading (THE WORST!). I get them from the sun – and the salt water was definitely no help.
To stop the cold sore from spreading and to minimize the tingling sensation, I had been using tea tree oil to dry them out which really works great, however the tea tree oil is really powerful and burns. A few days after renting the boat, we were driving north and drove through a little town called Hawi. My husband pulled over to look at his GPS so I got out of the jeep and walked into a little market. As I was looking around I came across the tamanu oil and started reading the label. Once I saw you could use it on cold sores, I knew I was meant to give it a try .. I mean .. how strange is that we happen to be driving through that little town and I decide to get out of the car to go walk around a market and oil for cold sores is on the shelf!
I was pretty skeptical when I initially put the oil on my lip. I did not think it was going to be strong enough since it did not burn. A few minutes later the tingling sensation from the cold sore went away. The next day I woke up, I could already see it healing! I was STUNNED it is like magic ha!! 18 days later and the bumps are smoothing, the graft on the big toe is going away. I had a sandal on during the accident which is why that white untouched skin is there on the top of the foot and the sides. You can see the smooth skin is growing up from this area and the join between the graft and the good skin getting smoother.

I wanted to express my recent experience using Tamanu Oil.
For many years I have been searching for something to correct an area on my face that is dry and received skin damage after a car accident. While visiting my son in Oahu he introduced me to your oil which he had found. He had great success on healing skin damage caused by psoriasis! I decided to try it in my face and at first just that one area. I was amazed and grateful to see that the wrinkles and dry look disappeared when I massaged it into that area. Within a few days that area was not showing any signs of damage and I repeated this in the morning and evening . So I decided to use it on my whole face without getting near my eyes as directions clearly explain.
